How do I reserve a horse-drawn carriage for my wedding?
Call or email us from our website requesting the day and location of the ride. We will return your phone call or email within 24 hours to confirm your date is available and with a price quote for location. Once you decide to reserve the carriage we will send out a contract with all the information.
Is there a deposit required?
Yes, we require a $200.00 non-refundable deposit to confirm your reservation. The balance is due two weeks before the wedding.
How far can the carriage travel?
The carriage can travel up to four miles one way. Depending on the horse and temperature outside, four miles can take up to one hour. Once at the destination, the horse and carriage to stay to give guests rides.
What happens if it rains?
There is a top on the carriage that will be put up if it is raining.
In the event of a complete weather disaster (thunder storm, snowstorm or extremely cold temperatures) The Hitching Company will refund everything except the deposit, within two weeks of the scheduled date. You must contact us at least 4 hours in advance on the day of the event and it must be weather related. If The Hitching Company is there and there is lightening at the time of the ride, The Hitching Company will delay the start time by up to 1 hour or when the lightening stops whichever occurs first. If the Hitching Company is at the event there is no refund regardless of the weather.
Baraat/Indian Wedding Tradition FAQ
How do I reserve a horse or horse and carriage for a Baraat ceremony?
Contact The Hitching Company by phone or email with date and location. We will return your phone call or email within 24 hours to confirm your date is available and with a price quote for location. Once you decide to reserve the Baraat horse or horse and carriage we will send out a contract with all the information.,
Is there a deposit required?
Yes, we require a $200.00 non-refundable deposit to confirm your reservation. The balance is due two weeks before the ceremony.
Requirements for groom to ride horse:
-Must sign a liability release waiver prior to ceremony.
-The Hitching Company requires groom to practice getting on and off horse. An appointment is set up before the ceremony.
-Only groom is permitted to ride horse at all times, handler will always be with horse and groom.
-Guests will always be a safe distance away from horse per the handler.
