Now Hiring: Carriage Driver / Tour Guide

The Hitching Company is looking for dependable, hard-working individuals to join our team as Carriage Drivers / Tour Guides.

This is a unique, hands-on position where you’re involved in the entire operation-from caring for the horses at the barn to giving memorable carriage rides through Minneapolis. You’re not just a driver-you’re part of the full experience.

The Role

This is a stable-to-street position. You will help care for the horses, prepare for tours, and safely drive guests through Minneapolis while providing a fun and engaging experience.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a horse-drawn carriage on designated routes

Provide friendly, engaging narration during tours

Feed, water, groom, and harness horses

Clean stalls and maintain a safe, organized barn

Keep carriages and equipment clean and ready for use

Assist guests and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older

Must be non-smoking

Must have a valid driver’s license

Comfortable working around large draft horses

Physically able to lift 50 lbs and stay active throughout a shift

Able to safely mount and dismount a high carriage seat multiple times throughout a shift

Able to work outdoors in all types of weather

Friendly, reliable, and able to work independently

Horse experience is helpful, but we will train the right person

Compensation & Schedule

Starting Wage: $16.37 per hour (City of Minneapolis minimum wage for 2026)

Additional Earnings: Gratuities from tours

Schedule: Weekend availability required, typical shifts are around 4 hours
