All about The Hitching Company Minneapolis, MN

The Hitching Company was established in 1988 by Mike and Barb Miller and has been providing carriage rides in Minneapolis ever since 1993.

While on a daily basis, visitors to Minneapolis will see our carriages at such notable locations as the historic Nicollet Island, the Stone Arch Bridge, St. Anthony Falls, the Federal Reserve Bank, and the Guthrie Theater, our beginnings were really a fairytale!

Our business started with one Cinderella carriage used for weddings and other special events. When our horses aren’t busy giving tours in downtown Minneapolis, they are working to create memorable events, providing wedding carriages (even traditional Baraat and Indian weddings), horse-drawn funeral carriages and special event trolley rides and horse-drawn transportation.

Our charming tours of Minneapolis are the perfect romantic date-night activity. We are also are happy to say dozens of couples each year ‘pop-the question’ on our rides as our lovely carriage tours are the perfect location for a marriage proposal.

Since our fairytale beginnings in 1988, The Hitching Company has grown to 7 Carriages, 19 horses and 12 full and part-time employees.
